Canon Pro 9000 printer review
I was woke up this morning at a very rude 9.30am by the UPS man delivering a very big and heavy box. Canon had at last got there hands on a Canon pro 9000 printer and sent it to me.
When id sobered up enough to not break anything I set about the task of getting the thing up n running, so after removing my i9950 from the office I opened up the box. The first thing that i noticed was the physical size and weight of the unit. It is huge, and very heavy, canon has even put a set of wheels on the back section to wheel it around your desk. Whilst setting up I noticed as you put the ink cartridges in and push them into place a small light illuminates the cartridge to tell you it is in properly, useless but pretty all the same. Set up and print head alignment etc took about 20 minutes from opening the box. Now when it comes to the print...... OH MY GOD, stunning, out of the box with no adjustments it prints black and white with no colour casts, skin tones are unbelievable and the image almost leaps of the page at you. It is quiet as well tufing out an A3 print in about 2 minutes and A4 in about 90 seconds. Mine didn't come with a usb cable but this may be remedied when they hit the shops next week. I will add to this thread as I use the printer a bit more and it suffers the day to day abuse by me, however first glance is a big |

Re: Canon Pro 9000 printer review
Thanks for the mini review Gary, I am on the market for a new a3 printer and was looking at the 9000 and the not yet released 9500. I will be very interested in reading your follow up review after you have given it some more abuse

Re: Canon Pro 9000 printer review
I have been using it for 5 days now and the thing is great, one thing that I have noticed however is that it does take longer to print text document such as invoices etc than i9950.
I don't know if you guys want to move this to the review forum and I will keep updating it every month as problems usually occur as soon as you get stuff or just after the warranty has run out. |

Your wish is my command. You're not getting mixed up with the 9950 are you...I put that up on the 10 November.

Re: Canon Pro 9000 printer review
No I had one of those but it went a bit daft after 11 months hence the free pro 9000 from canon.

Re: Canon Pro 9000 printer review
Hi, just want to know. Did you made some calculations of the cost per page e.g. letter or 5*7. Thanks in advance.

Re: Canon Pro 9000 printer review
No I have never done that as the price I charge for prints swallows the cost of production many times over, however a rough guess would be around £1.00 for A4 and £1.50 for A3 including paper and ink costs. The cost of production against the cost of sale is negligable.
