Elinchrom D-Lite 4 Kit - Review of shots taken from 1st test
Having never played with Studio Lights before, I thought it was time to try out the new toys - Elinchrom D-Lite 4 Kit - 2 heads, light stands plus Soft boxes.
I used a bedroom measuring 10' x 9' with collapsible black / white background. 1st Shot : - I used one light at 45% to front, with one behind to highlight edges of mickey & a reflector at front left to soften any shadows. Here's a diagram of setup :-  with resulting shot here :-  2nd Shot :- Basically same as above, but bumped up power from backlight & placed more overhead  3rd Shot :- Quick blast at high key. Changed to white background & removed soft box from back light , placed below subject & fired on to white background.  with results here :-  Shot 4 :- Finally managed to find a real model (stepson). Same setup as above . You can see the background creeping back in top right..... easy to fix in PS.

Shot 5 :- Single Softbox
 giving this result :-  Shot 6 : Same as above but model facing light  Shot 7 :- 2 softboxes facing direct on to model  givng this :-  |

Above was shot using following kit :-
Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - D-Lite 4 - 2 head kit - Nikon D200 Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens for wider view shots Sigma 105mm Macro f/2.8 lens for tighter cropped shots Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger V2 Camera was set to Manual, ISO100, between 1/60 - 1/80 sec, f/8 as starting point. All handheld. Shots were taken with Auto White Balance & imported to Lightroom where no further processing was performed other than to resize for web. |

thats really good I like how they turned out
 I googled the light set to see if I can get one over here and found a website where they showed samples and let me tell you that your pictures are by Farrrrrrrrr a lot better than the samples they used. Last edited by j sotelo : 11-03-2008 at 00:26. Reason: added a comment |
