Nikon / Nikkor 18-200mm VR Review
Just posted a review of my new Nikkor 18-200mm VR in the Equipment review section at:
http://www.pixalo.com/reviews/showpr...php?product=53 I ordered this lens in mid December and received it the first week in March. Was it worth the wait? - read the review. - Paul |

Re: Nikon / Nikkor 18-200mm VR Review
The review is decent enough but flawed in one sense, Paul: yout state that you found the best optical results fromt this lens were obtained at f/14 - such a result will vary from camera to camera in terms of MP count, owing to the physical diffraction limitations of various sensor sizes. Without knowing what camera you tested with it's not possible for others to make a guess at how it will perform on their own cameras.
For example: shooting with a D2H with a 4MP count, you might not start to run into diffraction issues with a given lens until after f/22. Mount the same lens on a D70 @ 6MP and you'll start to hit the same diffraction issues around f/16. A 10MP D200/80/40x will exhibit issues after f/11 and the D2X will show the same issues after f/8. Anyone interested can read a supplemental external review at Bjørn Rørslett's site here Last edited by VikingPhotography : 15-03-2007 at 11:26. |
