1 from last night

Tanfield Railway photo shoot last night, plenty of photographers turned up. This is just one of the many shots I got and only the first I have processed so far after a quick look through the raw files....20 sec exposure.

More to follow if you like.

Re: 1 from last night

Great atmosphere there, Ken. I'm not normally a mono fan, but it suits this perfectly.

My only slight criticisms are that it looks like it should be rotated very slightly anticlockwise, and the bright area in the foreground is a little distracting.

Yeah I wondered if I should rotate it....the bright area is the ashes from the fire, for some reason they shovelled them out onto the ground at the side of the train.....don't know if this was needed or if they thought it would make better pics for the togs?
Thanks for the comments.

Re: 1 from last night

Nice looking image. Not fussed by the hot ashes as they add an extra interest factor (would they chuck 'em out to bring the fire's temp down a notch, since it's only standing?)

Re: 1 from last night

Yup, lovely image, really chock full of character and atmosphere, well done.

Only minor point is I'd prefer the balance of space at front and back to be reversed, ie a touch more space at the front and a touch less at the back. It is usually best to have a little more space in the direction the object is pointing towards.

But other than that I think this is a cracking shot.

Cheers,
Rob
