1st attempt at reversing lens for macro

This is my first attempt at reversing the kit lens on the 350D to get a macro shot.

Set the shot up, pressed the DOF Preview button, took the lens off with the camera still powered up, moved the camera in and out to manually focus and stopped breathing!

Good technique dude!

And I'm bloody impressed you pulled that off with no camera shake. I used to try this back when I started 35mm stuff about 18yrs ago (god I'm old) but my shots never came out anywhere as good as that!

I'm sure you used to be able to buy adapters that would let you do exactly that, reverse the lens, they have the lens bayonet on one side and a filter thread on the other.

Wonders........

LOL. You've done that holding the reversed lens in front of the camera?

I used to do that a thousand years ago but with the reverse adaptor mount and macro bellows. That's way cool!

Tried it the other day with the kit lense and its quite amazing how close you can get! Tried it with the sigma too but couldn't get that to work.
