2 flowers
i know 1 pic at a time but i really want to know which one is better and why. i like them both.

Have moved thread as there's no reason why question can't be answered here!
My answer is the first is better as in the second the contrast is a little too much, leading to the dark "patchy" nature. Subtlety usually works better - even more so with a subject such as flowers! |

Hmmm there are bits on both of them that I like too ... what about merging them using layers, then vary the opacity 'til you get a pleasing balance between the two effects?

photosharing will take a few more shots then just one, photo critique is one at a time. I would go for a blend on the flowers,,,You seem to like the detail of the darker lines, work to bring them out on the first one very slowly and lightly.
