2nd wedding - I'd appreciate your comments

I did my second wedding on Saturday as assistant 'tog and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Because I had the showjumping finals on Sunday I haven't really had a chance to look at the shots properly but here are a few I've worked on. The good news is that I uploaded a few to my website and somebody who viewed them is interested in using me for their wedding on the London Eye next summer.

As always your critique is welcomed.

This couple were funny, she was fussing over him and I love the resigned look on his face

Two from inside the church, obviously flash wasn't allowed and I had to push the ISO to 1600 which introduced a lot of noise.

A couple of montages and something a bit more unusal

The reception was held at a golf club and in the evening I noticed the sky was getting good so I was able to grab the happy couple for a few minutes to shoot these which I'm very pleased with. The final shot has had a PS action called Midnight Sepia added to it which is a great one for weddings (there is also one called Midnight Black

Very impressive Colin !! I think your ability to mix old style with some more lateral thinking shots will keep you busy with work Only comment is probably to play with WB on 2 internal shots.

So when you quitting the day job & going full time with this photography malarky , as you seem to have the "get up & go" to try out all these different aspects of photography ?

I've given myself two years but you never know what will happen in the meantime! Work is really p*ssing me off at the moment along with the commute (North East Herts to Surrey everyday) and I'd love to leave all the corporate bull and playground politics behind me, but it pays the mortgage and bills. A good friend of a close friend is a top photojournalist and I'm meeting with him next week, he does a lot of work for national papers and mags etc so that could be interesting.

They are really lovely photos Colin! It's so nice to see something a bit different from the usual run of the mill wedding photos.

And, I have to say this, and you're all going to say "typical female"...but why couldn't the groom have had his trousers shortened? Not too much to ask for the groom to look his best on the most important day of his life is it really!!?

No it's not "typically female" Angela. It's all a case of having style, plus a degree of attention to detail. We are in a disposable age and most people know all about what is currently fashionable but know diddly-squat about style or how to wear clothes - like trousers having a natural drop or showing 1/2 inch of shirt cuff at your jacket sleeve.

Sorry Colin for hijacking your thread for a moan. Back to the photos - I like them and, as said, you've given a nice slant to them which adds that little bit of difference. I particularly like the first montage and the outside shots. Well done, mate

Re: 2nd wedding - I'd appreciate your comments

Here are a few more, I've just about finished processing and got about 150 good ones which can easily be whittled down to the usual 50-60.

This the groom and his brothers who were also his best men

Another from the church:

I can't decide between these two, what do you think?

Finally, I couldn't resist putting this tryptych (sp?) together!
