747 Lift off
I know aircraft are not everybodies cup of tea, but I never tire of watching these
300 tonne babies lifting off. This one was taking off from Manchester heading home.

A nicely comp'd pic is a nicely comp'd pic, whatever the subject - and this one is!

My OH will be your friend forever, hes a plane addict so much so he can tell what model it is by the sound and speck in the distance!

Re: 747 Lift off
Good shot, well composed and captured. The haze behind the engines is just enough to give you the sense of movement required.
I'd be a little nervous about photographing round airports, particularly when you hear of people being moved on from Power Stations etc. cheers Dan |

Re: 747 Lift off
Living near the flightpath of London Heathrow you no need to worry about photographs. Two miles from touchdown and you can fill the frame using a Brownie Box!!!.

Re: 747 Lift off
this is a great capture, but i was thinking if you slowed the SS down to say 1/60 and did a very short pan it would give a very strong feeling of movement... just a thought

Re: 747 Lift off
I've been spending a fair bit of time in Manchester airport recently (who in their right mind does a job which involves a frequent commute to Port Sunlight from the South??
) - and I never tire of watching the planes take off/land. Nice shot
