Andrea Bocelli
I got privileged exclusive access to photograph Andrea Bocelli at the start of his European tour last night which, as it turns out, also gave me the opportunity to test out the v2.0 firmware on my D2X bodies.
Turns out that I needed the firmware more than I thought: the stage lighting was good but overall on the dim side for a performance, so I had to up the ISO to the new H 0.7 (ISO 1250) setting to acheive good results at 1/100 sec and f/2.8. I normally shy away from setting anything above ISO 640 for concerts/gigs but I decided to place my faith in the new firmware - and I wasn't dissapointed. ![]() The above was one of the shots that I didn't send to my agency because it was too similar to some other, slightly better (IMO) ones that did go. For tech freaks, Noise Ninja reported a noise index of 59 for this shot (25 luma, 34 chroma) which, IMO, is great considering it was at ISO 1250
