And another mono....
Dave, can I stop now? I am losing so much colour my GP thinks I need a blood transfusion!
Anyway, the whole idea here was to get a dark and moody feel to the picture as Burnham old lighthouse stands defiantly alone on the beach in Somerset. There is something about this old structure that I like and I have taken pics loads of times. Some I like, some are less good but hey, you'll never get to see those <g> Anyway, just sticking another mono to keep Dave happy. Next one will definitely be back in colour! Cheers, Rob

Re: And another mono....
Wow, that's a dark shot for you Rob, you always sound so cheerful when we talk! I do like this though, it's got atmosphere. Did you add the rain yourself? I remember you told me how to do it once. I did try but forgot how to do it so you'll have to tell me again.

Re: And another mono....
Nice one, Rob. One thing that nags me when I look at it, the general dark and moody atmosphere is not complemented by the way the lighthouse is lit (by the sun, presumeably). The ligtness of the side of the building, along with the shadows cast on the legs does not gel with the lighting in the rest of the shot. I think it would be better if the building was toned down to match the lighting in the main part of the shot.
I still like it though! |

Re: And another mono....
I hadn't even noticed that but I don't have your experience Dab. Still think it looks good but should be changed I guess.

Re: And another mono....
I have to say Dab, you're spot on. The daft thing is, that IS the genuine sky, the only thing that isn't is the rain but of course I have darkened it down such a lot that the shadows become obvious. I must watch for that.
Dixie, you're right of course but why think your experience isn't enough for that sort of thing? You shouldn't put yourself down. I keep telling you that! Cheers, Rob |
