Re: Another rose for musing
This is great. the colour and texture is good. Not like similar pics that often make the rose look waxy. This pic has convinced me to purchase the Sigma 70-300mm APO. Hoping it is the lens you used

Re: Another rose for musing
![]() Hope you don't mind Jack, but just gave it a quick edit - cropped, H&S, burned and sharpened. |

Re: Another rose for musing
Didn't see the other one Jack, but TBH this doesn't do much for me. It's too square-on, no visual interest here for me, + the lighting is quite harsh which doesn't help. The BG colour doesn't go well at all with the colour of the rose + competes for attention

Re: Another rose for musing
I like the original. I think that the softness reflects the softness of the rose. I woud, however, crop a bit from the right side.

Re: Another rose for musing
Thanks for the replies, Twiggs, yes it was the Sigma, go buy it! Great lens
, Tigress I like your idea, but wouldn't have cropped as much from the right side, also sharpening was already applied, so looks a little overboard.Charlotte: Harsh lighting? Bad BG colour? The lighting was bounced flash...! And the BG is dark green, which is the only one I could have really. However, I sort of agree about the composition, but I quite liked being ableto see the intricacies of the rose petals straight on... Thanks Skip, yes maybe I will... |
