Re: Astrophotography
Just seen that myself too. bit of a tricky spot to be on a friday evening, apparently misbehaving businessmen and doggers hang about there on a Friday evening and then I turn up with my camera many steamed up windows and people looking frustrated as I swanned about with my camera and tripod, had to stifle a giggle. (if you don't know what doggers are google it)![]()

Re: Astrophotography
![]() ![]() Out at a very empty redmires resovoir, very little light pollution unless you point he camera towards the city. straight up is fine or out towards the peak district, when I first got there didn't seem to be too many stars visible but after about 5 minutes the view was amazing. then some git put his/her headlights on and I couldnt see a bl##dy thing again.

Re: Astrophotography
I see stars, some yellow fluff, a tree in the bottom right and George Bush on a broom stick top left and middling a bit.

Re: Astrophotography
If you don't have any foreground to worry about set the focus to infinity (i.e. anything over 30 metres distance). If foreground is included use the hyperfocal distance method (see thread/tutorial on this topic).
If you locate the Polaris (polar star), the rest of the stars will rotate around it during a long time exposure. Need to pick a clear night with as little ambient light as possible, i.e. deep in the country away from ANY source of light. Les |
