bamburgh and lindisfarne
visited Lindisfarne and Bamburgh on saturday, have to say the lindisfarne was the biggest dissapointment in a "castle" that i have ever been to, but i guess its always nice to say " i have been there" even if it means u wont be back! lol.....
no photography in either , bamburgh is as always an awesome place to visit and highly recommended, its just harder to get past the guides with your camera! lol lindisfarne from the north ![]() outside the priory on lindisfarne ![]() Bird of prey Rescue centre also on lindisfarne ![]() one of bamburghs beautiful stairs....

Re: bamburgh and lindisfarne
I was disappointed with Lindisfarne Castle too. You seem to have made the best of it anyway. But what did you think of the priory? As you probably know, the castle was built from stone taken from the priory. An impressive shot of the stair way.

Re: bamburgh and lindisfarne
thought the priory was the best of bad job, but i was struck by the absolute emptiness of emotion and feeing in the place, normally i can walk into one of htese ruins and u get an instant "feeling" of sanctity / peace/ tranquility/ worship call it what you will........ but all i felt was complete and utter emptiness...... cant really describe it any other way.

Fi, I really enjoy your photos more and more of late. You've progressed as both a shooter and post processor to the point where I always look forward to your work.
Particularly like the image of the stairs. You nailed the focus on that owl. Well done. |
