I have been thinking about that lens when I get a replacement for my broken S2. The thing that worries me is the fact that the canon lens retracts when it powers off and this can be automatic. If the Raynox is still attached I can see major problems.

it won't be a problem. raynox DCR-250 is with adapter for very easy and fast dismantling from camera.

I was not worried about how to get the lens off just what happens if I forget to change the power settings and the camera tries to shut itself down with the lens still attached.

that could be a problem . but after you hear strange noice from your camera for the first time you'll learn very fast what to do and when .
