Bee and Crocus
Got a new Zuiko EX-25 macro tube yesterday. Took my E510, Zuiko 70-300, and it out to my favorite flower as of now. Overcast day and too dark to capture wings in flight. At any rate these are first experiments with it and manual focus. I think it will prove a good buy as the garden developes and I have some light to play with.

Re: Bee and Crocus
Really enjoy #2 - think it's the comp but the set looks good. Look forward to seeing more as the season gets going!

Re: Bee and Crocus
Thanks Markulous. I need to get a good tripod. Hand holding and manual focus are entertaining, but I'll bet with the right equipment the camera can do more. We'll have to see if I can.

Telephoto's can be very addictive, have you noticed the high contrast in the orange/yellow next to the crocus petals. Really like to see bee pictures, only saw about 10 last year.

Re: Bee and Crocus
Yeah, Lew, but get it right with handheld and a tripod is much easier! Don't forget monopods - good for just that little bit more stability to handheld (and doesn't get in the way as much as a tripod can - how often have I scared away my subject by trying to set up a tripod shot!)

Re: Bee and Crocus
Thanks folks. In May of last year I started on this hobby and it looks like I have years of enjoyment and learning to come. There's something new with every piece of kit and every time I pick the camera up. I appreciate the encouragement.

Re: Bee and Crocus
Great shots! I love the colors you have here. I'm kinda new to this, could I ask what a macro tube is?

Re: Bee and Crocus
It changes the focal point of a lens on the sensor. In this case it doubles the size of the image at close-up focus. It also will allow closer working distance, especially with manual focus. Some of the the other folks can undoubtedly do better in explaining, but that's my understanding.
