A splash of colour I think you could say
 Nice details, and a rare subject make this very appealing  Very good, a slight shame that the tail feathers have been clipped a little, but I guess a bird that size is a pretty hard subject to frame

I tried absolutely everthing (including making stupid noises
 ) but the little ****s wouldn't put their tail feathers up.  I need to find me some females!! |

I think the first shot showing the crown makes up a little though, very sharp and great colour, love the oily texture of the feathers.
