BSB @ Oulton
Quite pleased with some of my results, it's the third bike meeting I've been to and the first where I managed to get a good number of keepers. Oulton's great for the photo's most of these were taken on the outside of Knickerbrook where you can get close to the circuit without any fences obscuring the view.
It's the race tomorrow and we're back again so hopefully I'll be able to get some more. Am stuck with a laptop in the hotel so these may not have been processed properly but wanted to share a few ... Re: BSB @ Oulton
nice shots mate.. my only niggle with the 1st two is while they are sharp and you have great detail.. there is no motion blur so its like is the bike moving dunno
![]() the shakey shot you have is the best imo as it shows movement at speed .. panning is a art.. all the best for tommorrow md |

Re: BSB @ Oulton
Thanks guys.
It's kind of difficult to get decent motion blur when the bike's coming towards you, can't really pan to blur the background. Many of the shots I took were plenty blurred, but I prefer these .cheers Dan |

Re: BSB @ Oulton
Last 2 for me with the motion - although arguably the simpler BG in #3 is "best", I really like the last for the context!

Re: BSB @ Oulton
Sorry MD did my reply seem a bit snippy, it wasn't supposed to. I agree there's not a lot of feeling of movement, I wanted the tilted over cornering and am not sure if / how that could be done to give the motion blur. As I said (as an attempt at humour) many of them were blurred but they didn't look so good, some of them were so blurred you couldn't make out the bike.
Your opinion is welcomed, as are all. Cheers Dan |

Re: BSB @ Oulton
This series illustrates for me how much there is to learn about photographing different subject matter. #1 and #2 may not have motion blur from panning, but would tickle me to death to have taken them. I find the whole series very good.

Re: BSB @ Oulton
Great set
![]() ![]() I don't think that #1 and #2 need any motion blur. The angle of these shots mean that the bike is not traversing across the line of sight all that quickly, (relatively speaking), and so the panning is non existent or very slight, and a fast shutter speed will freeze the action. I don't think I've ever seen a shot taken from this angle with motion blur - car or bike. |
