First shots from a noobie...
Good morning all,
I was given a lovely camera for Christmas and I've had a little bit of a play. Please bear in mind that these are the first SLR pictures I've taken in close to 5 years (and I'm rubbish), but I enjoyed myself for an hour down by the river before dark. Cheers all, and any comments are most welcome. Noel.

Re: First shots from a noobie...
Good diverse range of subjects there Noel
Liking the bridge ones from this set. #1 is a bit underexposed. The meter has probably read from the swan and the river. Spot metering from the swan would give a more accurate measurement. The close ups are well exposed, but the flash is a bit on the harsh side. A diffuser will soften the light and give better results in these situations. something like this for the pop-up flash. This is a good first set so keep it up |

Re: First shots from a noobie...
Hi Noel.... Good to see you posting some photographs from the new camera.
I can only second Grahams comments about the exposures but its early days and I am sure you will soon become familiar with the appropriate settings. The last sentence on your post epitomises what it is all about......"enjoyment" Look forward to seeing many more pics in the New Year. brian. |
