Re: Infrared Thread.

Well done Adee Bet they look awesome at that size.

I like the way they are displayed. Are they printed directly onto fabric/canvas and stretched on the frames?

Re: Infrared Thread.

Just went over this last section and was blown away, a revisit was worth it to me as I am going thru growing pains and fun, it just slowed me down. Looking here at this wonderful work caused my heart to pound alittle harder. That's a good thing.. Was wondering Adee if you picked up another camera for IR ?

Re: Infrared Thread.

That's good to hear, the 590 zone is something new to me so I look around. I like my rebel 400D, plastic and light as I take it along when using my color, also just bought a holster for it which will double as a wildlife bag too. Reading back on what simpbow said. I have a 5 meg bridge Oly that has an IR filter so I can get soft water, it works to a 20 to 30 sec. Range but for him as much as it goes. Maybe if he comes up with it he'll make a break thru with long exposures in IR. I have been using mine with some experiments and plan a trip to some of my old stomping grounds. That fire is burning and I need to create some scenes. If you can sometime I would to see this 590, is it the one they call the goldie ? I know about that one.
Cheers Adee

Yes - I would like to see some from the Super Goldie. I've often been tempted in getting some compact with that in. Just not got round to finding some cash for it.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Been meaning to do these since late April. Finally got round to processing these ones.

Also of note for those with Facebook accounts is a competition at Lifepixel which can win you a conversion.
LifePixel Infrared Photo Of The Month Awards - Official Rules - LifePixel Digital Infrared Photography IR Conversion, Modification & Scratched Sensor Repair

I might have to create a FB account at some point to enter.

Let's start with a image with a nice bit of pink candy...

Then a couple of black and white with glow effect.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Hi Chris,, like the third one, and the whole balance of the trees to foreground. I like to watch your glow effect pictures as I don't do those. It is very temping tho. I saw all the life pixel ads in my mail, all I can think about is my up coming holiday. Started with two cameras, one color and my standard IR. Now I am at 4 cameras which equals two kits. The IR kit has two converts and a pure color so I really have everything covered there. But #2 kit has the more capable color camera and I just can't leave it behind. It really is kind of fun, after looking at your pictures I know I am on the right track. I am sure I have enough when it comes to what I can do, just dream about my first real photo holiday. Thanks for sharing your glow work, I believe it lowers blood pressure .

Re: Infrared Thread.

Thanks Stephen

Am glad the glow has a medicinal purpose

I have been tempted with getting a super goldie conversion - I have a 50D sitting around now gathering a bit of dust. It still mostly works, although the shutter button is a bit sticky occasionally, I think it would make a good conversion candidate. I just have to get a FB account or save up some $$$

Re: Infrared Thread.

And now for some marco in IR - can photoing get any more fun ?

Crab spider on orchid - Blue and Red channel swapped.

Then another of it, from the camera WB setting - and bit of Topaz Adjust.

And lastly a beetle on grass. Just auto levels on this.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Went out with the kids after Gary BagstaXXX put up his painted walls and Urban Luster. The kids have been here for a month now so this was a great spot, the wall has really changed and some of the paintings have been painted over buy someone who wrecks some really good work. I took only a few finding that when using the 72NM filter it doesn't show red paint. You see behind it so when the wrecker used red I still have a change to see part of the original. Here is a picture of the wall and the train yard. only a corner on this shot. I found it interesting because St. Louis has declared it legal to paint and want people to do it even next to the trains.

Hope you like it, It kind of has a LOMO kinda look. Very bright light and 103 degrees heat.

Guessed that they were the same shot. The Topaz Simplify has certainly brought an almost cartoon like feel to it.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Yeah - thanks - on of the nice things about IR you can do different stuff with the shots. Colour shifting, False film IR looks. Then play with plugins and get different looks. Like to occassionally use Simplify for its painting like effects.

Like 3,5,6,9 and 11. The black next to the blue water in 3 is great. The sun picture is too. I completely missed these, also found the alternate key board with funny pictures like this 🐌 .

Re: Infrared Thread.

Nice snail

The sun picture was helped by a Topaz Adjust playabout.

Was pleased with getting the dark waters -gives a different feel I think to water - the blue again came through a bit in the camera shot once I swapped the channels - but boosted in Topaz a bit.
