I've been taking more interest lately of the old fences around some of the farms. I took this with my 400D Std. IR

Re: Infrared Thread.

I've been following this thread with curiosity and interest. Chris's butterfly particularly intrigued me and, since I don't have an IR camera, I had a go with editing a couple of my images. I hope you all approve. I do think the second one is just mono rather than IR

Re: Infrared Thread.

Boofer - Like you I find fences really work in IR - hence maybe the attraction.. Liking the dark tones on that shot.

Stepheno - No more than welcome the post IR camera shots or pseudo processing makes it all the more interesting. Liking the treatment on that hover (or is it bee ) shot. Really nice.

I think you're right about the butterfly shot. Still nice - seems sort of 60's movish to me. Not sure why - maybe that harsh Black and bright White imaging ?

Re: Infrared Thread.

l IR has this dence foggy gradient of color tone around subjects, shows up alot in macro work and blur from zooms. Do that and it doesn't matter where the picture came from in my opinion.

Went for a short walk this afternoon with the IR Camera. Not overly bright day but got these two shots which I've played with the colours using hue saturation adjustments. And I kind of like the effects.

Not so sure about the second, maybe is will take time to pink in. My immediate impression of the first was that you've been to the Bahamas - quite effective but the Priory gave it away.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Couple of nice ones there. I really like the tones in the Lodge shot. Also liking the church - works well with the processing. I also can't work out whether there is a cloud behind the tower on the church or it is some haloing nice all the same.

Liking that conversion too. Think the BS version gives the black more prominance for some reason, probably just the contrast.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Hi Pete,
Like your pictures, good grass and rocks, over all look is nice for black and white. I started out with a 72nm just for black and white. I find I wonder all over the area laid out for black and white and end up with a tint. I have been so busy that I have been lucky to tie my shoes. Went out west into the farmland, some farmers are friendly and others not so. This place was great, the farmer came out to talk awhile but I didn't push it as I wanted to bring out the tripod and take some long color pictures. Over all you just can't beat an infrared for a quick beautiful picture that can go in a lot of processing directions, Nice to see another IR person who has seen the light.

Thanks for tyne time as always your friend

Liking that last one Boofers. The grass looks almost like a snowfield, and the tree and building are nicely decaying.

Must try some soon myself, now it's getting brighter out.
