Daisies are looking very well, as members of the human race, sometimes things really loose their reality with the wrong colors, but sometimes not. I am a fan of topaz although I use it sparingly.

Re: Infrared Thread.

Every time I pass over the daisies I think of the drought we are in and all of my flowers that didn't make bloom. I think of daisies as my favorite flower. Thanks guy's for looking in, the IR thread is getting so big that you might think we would earn a place on the list so we wouldn't have to dig. I was getting in the truck and the darkness was surrounding us but I grab my IR camera anyway for a shot of this spot. The River had turned glassy so I couldn't leave without at least a few. I think this boat house saved the trip as we had very little to show for our efferts.

Re: Infrared Thread.

good stuff, hope you don't mind but I had a quick play with colour+contrast, the image above is a great subject with nice colour but seems to have a magenta cast across it, most noticeable in the sky,. now processing is a personal taste thing but thought another version might be interesting as well (though looking I think my version is a bit too yellow!)

Re: Infrared Thread.

Silver, thanks for the pimp. You've done what I work very hard at not doing. It is getting almost dark where there are hints of pink or purple in the clouds. So in the picture as I saw it the sky had the most brightness and the shadows started just above the tree line across the river. I do it all the time, I try and make it look like day and jam some bright contrast on the picture. Where I have a question is, "the back side of the tree has that low light shadow and the light has lost brightness in the front from no sun,". Do I try and add contrast to the light fading or leave what I have forced my self to beleave less is better when the sun goes away? I have noticed that if I look close up, I loose detail in dark areas when adding contrast to IR, so I've gone easy and backed off to let the detail show for pixel peepers. Thanks for the look, I do like the contrast in the yellow trees. I try to keep a straw colored yellow and over all I seem to get more tones.

Re: Infrared Thread.

very true, it is easy to imagine it could be another way, if I think more evening time on your image it does give more that impression., the version I had a play with is a lot harsher and certainly does not convey evening time,. It's funny going back and looking at yours I am preferring the first version more

I think black point / where to put the shadow is a creative decision in general,. there's almost never a 'right' answer,. or rather what you as the person who made the image prefers is best, it is easy to get hung up on slight technical stuff but one of the freeing things about IR is that does not to conform to 'normal' photography in colours at least so I think the results overall can be more abstract,.

Sliver, thank you, that was well said. A good point too about the black spot. I will watch the picture fall right into place and take on a realism when placed in the right spot. Good points,

Beautiful picture, I like the people who add contrast to the grave yard . Over all good color blend and the wall dropping in from the left actually makes me feel like I am looking out a window.

Thanks - The second one I think suffers a bit as I got some blue leaking into the clouds. I also added detail - almost the opposite of the IR blur.

Re: Infrared Thread.

good stuff, the 2nd one I like most,. the sky is really very cool and has an almost impressionistic feel to it ( The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh: Prints, Poem, and Image ) - to the extent I think you can make a crop - square with the stuff below the bottom of the bridge not needed (or perhaps even the bridge not needed)
