OK, something new!
With the sunny weather the last couple of days, I made the almighty effort(!) and went out at sunrise this morning. Everyone has to have certain things in their Gallery - and two of these things happen to be Robins and Swans. So here are mine, taken this morning
This little guy was singing his/her heart out oblivious to me ![]() The trick is to bribe them but make it look as if you're not! And then when you're taking the shot try and avoid blowing the highlights! Was pretty pleased with this, taken with angle finder ![]() Comments good, bad or indifferent very welcome!

Love the Robin, Mark
Doing some beak - reading, I think he/she is actually saying 'You might think I've not noticed you, but in about two minutes, all of my mates will be here and if you have not ****ed off, there is going to be trouble.' |

Re: OK, something new!
Cheers, Graham! But think you using the old 'Beak Reading for Beginners' which has been superceded by 'Beak Reading, A Worm's Eye View' which has all the subtleties - including local dialects. Anyway, as you know, robins don't have mates, being extremely territorial and the most aggressive UK bird!
BTW, forgot to say that both the pics were fullframe - other than the robin square crop, obviously!

I love the angle on the second one, that really is a super shot! Is that at Cosmeston?

Thanks, Angela! Yup! Cosmeston! Well spotted - and apologies for not saying Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, Penarth!

Re: OK, something new!
Many thanks Karen for the comments - appreciated. Yeah, robins are vicious - to do with their intense defense of their territory. You can put a mock robin in the garden (it's the red that is really the only important bit) and they'll tear it to shreds!
You know, Dave, to my slight surprise that mono ain't half bad! Felt certain that the shot would really need to be colour! Thanks!

Re: OK, something new!
Nice shot of the Robin & I really like the low angle on the Swan in the 2nd shot.
