Up high in the hills near my folks house there is an old abandoned reservoir that used to be used for the local textile mills. It stopped being used years and years ago and partly demolished. It's now just sitting there decomposing and is local tradition to go and daub your name on the walls.

I went up yesterday;

There it is. It's very spooky when you are up there as all the sounds echo. My shutter firing was scary inside!

I found a big pot of paint that some ******s didn't take off the hills with them:mad: (I HATE MESS IN THE HILLS!). So I daubed my political beliefs on a wall so it's now the first thing you see when you come over the hill! :-)

Aye thats the fella.

From Innerleithen it's a straight hike over the top of "Rocky" (I'll get it's real name once I remember it) Takes about 40 mins to get there.

Particularly like 'The Divide' and the political slogan - quite why you guys never took back what is yours when the North Sea actually had something worth taking (and before the politicians pi55ed away the proceeds), I'll never know

A strange place to have a water collection 'tank' as there are no visible streams or burns that would keep it topped up.Nicely recorded though.

.............there are people who think that way still,there being still a lot of oil and as yet unfound/untapped reserves .For me its more that,in my lifetime anyway,for large periods Scotland got the governments that England voted for and were rejected in Scotland [and chunks of northern England too I believe].I'm thinking,most obviously,Mrs Thatcher in particular and whatever ones views on her she was perceived by most people in Scotland as almost the personification of evil.We [jocks] were/are also regularly told we are subsidy junkies.Yet successive Labour and Tory governments have never 'solved' the root cause of this supposed 'addiction' [all the more galling in the light of released papers that showed Ministers and Departments conspired to lie about the amount of oil to keep the 'jocks' tied to the apron strings of Westminster].
Sadly,I have no faith in either the intellectual or moral qualities of many politicians but it may be easier for us up here to hold Hollyrood MP's to account than those at Westminster [the signs of that are not good as our mob seem to be the same money grabbing,expenses fiddling hypocrits as Westminster]
