Watching The Rain
Nothing as dramatic as what's been in the papers or on the TV but I caught this fella who wasn't prepared to risk going any further as the water began to rise.......

Re: Watching The Rain
Yes you're right
The padestrian is kinda looking at the Polo as if to say "You splashed me! Now look at the mess you've made!"

Re: Watching The Rain
Did the Polo make it through?
Did the van ever attempt it? Is the man still there? Has the water gone down? Is Sheffield the new Venice? (Has it survived a visit from PC?)

Re: Watching The Rain
Here are few more showing the reason why this main road in to Sheffield soon gets flooded......
The manhole cover always blows under the pressure and lifts the road around it....on Monday afternoon all but one cone had drifted down the road leaving an open drain which was unseen to anyone that didn't know it was there........ ![]() Just a little further back the railway floods coming down the banking and over the wall adding to the volume of water........ ![]() Of course no problem for white van drivers........ ![]() Thanks Ian

Yep, dodging road blocks and making the landy do what it is supposed to do, Some nice pics there Ian, The bridge flooded as usual but I noticed it cleared pretty quick, I had to go round the ringroad to get anywhere that night, finished taking pics about 2 Am waiting for ladys bridge to collapse but it didn't, came damn close, the water was about a foot below breaching the wall. Nearly got took out by a falling tree on Manchester road.
