Sigma 150mm APO Macro DG HSM Example/Sample Shots

This is a photo of the rotor head of a Walkera 4#3 sub-micro RC helicopter.

The rotor span is just 200mm, and to give you an idea of scale, the flybar (that's the horizontal rod in the upper half of the shot) is exactly one millimetre in diameter.

This was taken hand-held, f/16, 1/100, ISO 200, with bounce flash. It shows how critical the focusing is at this magnification, and I didn't get it spot on! (Next time use a tripod.

Where it is in focus it looks very good however

The following shots were re-sized and converted from tiff to jpg in PSP 9, exif info is included underneath each photo.

Exif Information: Model SIGMA SD14; Shutter speed 1/500s; Aperture f5.6; Focal length 150mm; ISO 100; Exposure compensation 0

Exif Information: Model SIGMA SD14; Shutter speed 1/160s; Aperture f3.2; Focal length 150mm; ISO 100; Exposure compensation 0.

The above shot was cropped in PSP 9 to focus more on the fly.

This shot, Reflection, was also taken with the lens, but has been converted to black and white and the basic brush stroke effect applied in PSP 9.

Perhaps so. I assumed he was referring to the fly. No slight intended. Some of Clare's pics are very nice. I've visited some of her links. We've even corresponded a little about mutual interests. She has her own unique perspective as we all do and I enjoy her quite a bit. As to Mr Silkstone's bee macros, I shall have to see about taking a look at his gallery. I've yet to visit his. I'm sure I can learn from them
