Bookmarking threads of interest
Many members would like to 'bookmark' threads of interest for future reference as after a while, they can easily be 'lost' in the forums.
We have a system where you can subscribe to a thread. Many would use this facility to be notified if a new post has been added to a discussion they have been involved with, but it can also be used to simply list threads of interest. Go to your user CP and in the LH menu bar go to subscribed threads>edit folders. Here you can create folders for your subscribed threads. There are five fields, but I don't know if you can have any more as this is a software issue. Now go to the thread you are interested in, and in the menu bar at the top of the thread there is a link 'Thread Tools'. An option in this menu is 'subscribe to this thread'. Clicking on this takes you to your user CP screen with two options - 'notification type' and 'folder options'. If you set the notification to 'no e-mail notifications' (unless you want to know if there has been another post) and use the drop down to select what folder you want to keep it in, just press the add subscription button and it is done. To go back to these saved threads, go into your user CP, go to 'subscribed threads' in the LH menu, then 'list subscriptions'. Here there are controls to select what folder you want to open, (you can also select 'all subscriptions') and a list of links to your saved threads will be displayed. Just click on a link and job done. At the bottom of the list there is a box on the RHS where you can move or delete the individual subscribed threads after selecting them with the tick boxes on the RHS of the list. Finally, in your user CP go to edit options and in the messaging and notifications section, there is the default thread subscription mode. Here you can select the 'do not subscribe' option and then you can control what threads you keep as described above. You could also use your bookmarking facility in your browser.
