Guidelines for Members Gallery

The aim of the Members Gallery is to allow Members to store & share their own photographs in relevant categories for others to view. For the viewing Member they can quickly see thumbnails of all the latest uploads, choose to view by category, search by keywords/tags or simply view by Member name.

In addition the all the above, Members can now provide valuable feedback & scoring on an individual photo. The advantage here for the Photographer is they retain all feedback directly to their Photo's in their own Gallery. This is seen as an improvement over the current Photo Sharing / Critique in the Community Forum

Members are permitted to upload a maximum of five images per day to be hosted at Pixalo. These images may be placed in your personal gallery, in different sections of the Members Gallery, or all in the same section.

Images must not exceed a file size of 300kb, and the longest side must be under 1000 pixels. More details can be found here :- Free Photo Gallery for every member

Steps to follow to Upload your Photos

Upload Photos - Located in the top banner to the far right. Click here to start the process.

Choose Category - Choose from the Pull down box. We recommend you don't use the default Member Galleries option unless you just want to store some private photos. Instead look to use one of the categories that best suits your Photo (eg. Landscape, People etc). IMPORTANT - Even though you list a Photo under say Landscapes, it will also still show under your own Personal Members Gallery

Select Photos - Browse & select multiple Photo's that fit the category you have just chosen

Title - Choose a short Title for Photo (if just one upload), or a default Title for multiple shots, that you can change on next screen. Alternatively leave blank for multiple uploads.

Description - Optional. Same as above re changing later if required.

Keywords - Note these will apply to all multiple uploads, so sometimes it is better to group similar Photo's for upload. These keywords allow Members to perform searches accordingly. For example consider using keyword "London" for any shots taken in London

Submit / Process - For a single upload this is the last action to take. For multiple uploads you will be presented with a 2nd page after Photo's have loaded, giving you chance to change Titles, Descriptions & include / exclude Photo's. Finish by pressing "process"

That's it !!! Your Photo/s are now loaded under the categories you listed, plus your own Members Gallery. You can see you your Photo listed on the Home page under Recent Shots, plus under the Category Sections. Now wait for members to give you constructive feedback on your Photo's & respond accordingly.

Steps to follow to provide Feedback on Photos

When you select a Photo you will be familiar with the normal reply box at the bottom. What you will find in addition is a button bar from 1-10 for scoring. We would ask for any scoring, you accompany some constructive comments to give the Member some feedback. Please also see our guidelines on comments here.
