Figures

This is a very small section from a model scene that depicts the celebration of Jesus being born. It is part of an exhibition that is on display in a large museum here in Munich which has about 30 or so different scenes. Each one is completely different and their sizes vary from about 5 feet across up to almost 100 feet. The figures in this shot stand approximately 8-10 inch tall. These are quite old and the collection is well known and regarded in Germany.

Photography is only allowed with prior written permission and then no flash is allowed. The lighting is incredibly low, but with high intensity spots on key areas, making photography especially difficult. All exhibits are housed behind glass so avoiding reflections was another consideration. This shot was done with the Canon 10D, 17-40L, custom white balance and using tripod with remote shutter release.

Re: Figures

With all the obstacles in your i think its a geat shoti Especially like the way you show good DOF to the b/g and f/g which centers on the figure in the center with the flute, in which looks like he has the Canon L series in flutes.

Re: Figures

As said above a very well taken shot in difficult circumstances. The point of focus and the aperture chosen has given a feeling of depth to the image and also helps lead the viewer into the main subject.
