Re: Jewellery
Nice set Charlotte. Perhaps number one appeals to me most. I'm afraid I would wasted a lot of time with that ring and background playing with depth of field. I see abstract macro possibilities in it. I would have forgot the intent of the exercise and not had anything for the theme.

Re: Jewellery
Good stuff Charlotte - 1 and 5 would be my picks. The ring in the 1st has lots of interest.
I'm just not keen on 2 or 4, pendant the seems to get lost in No.4. I think No.3 has potential but is a little busy. I saw the new theme but then realised I don't have any jewellery! My thinking cap is on

Re: Jewellery
Many thanks for your comments Lew + Ali
#1 is my favourite too. #2 I thought the colours came out rather well, but it does have a flat 2D effect which maybe spoils it. #3 Ali, I thought that about this one as well. #4 I really like the colours in this, and the texture + strong diagonals of the BG material (a scarf) with the gold thread which seemed to match the gold chain (I thought) hence I put the chain running in the same direction as them. What spoils this one for me is the highlights on the pearls (from the flash - this was also my first test run with my flashgun). #5 The colour of the saphires came out rather flat + the ring is a bit scratched, but I included it in the set 'cos I quite liked the compo. Well those are my thoughts. Any other ideas how I could've improved these? |
