Over at Play.com, they have the Sandisk Extreme III 16GB CF cards going for £79

This is the newer version of the Extreme III, sporting an update to a faster memory controller which now clocks in at 30MB/sec maximum transfer speed - that's 50% faster than the older revision which was 20MB/sec.

I've just shelled out for two of these to use in my D3 bodies... should be good for around 800 RAW files each!

Both of those can go into one D3, and you could buy another two for the other D3, giving you 3200 RAW's all told ... for the mother of all photo shoots

I was thinking more 1 x 16GB card for RAW in slot 1, 1 x 4GB card for JPG in slot 2... that way I have the best of both worlds in those situations where I need a JPG in a hurry to get it wired, and I can work on the RAW file later for the best printing quality.

I received the cards today and wow - what a thing of beauty it is to see the LCD panel display 1.1K shots available for shooting compressed RAW at 12bpp

...I've debated a few times about of getting one or two large cards but the thought of one of them failing on me after a shoot chills my blood. I fully understand the benefit of these cards to a working photog that does alot of action work, but for the average shooter I think they're a bit of a risk, 4 gig cards are currently my limit.

sounds great bud, i got a 16g sd in my leica, but i try and limit to more 4g cards for my D3, just in case of failure, but at £79 that fab
