Buy a D3 Safely on Ebay - Good Price Too ;)
Digital Rev is a trustworthy Ebay powerseller, and this D3 is in London, not direct from HK, i.e. quick delivery + no customs duty to worry about; comes with a 12 month local warranty too (all postage paid by them)

"The warranty that comes with this particular item is : Seller's 12 months standard warranty and 12 months Hong Kong local warranty. United Kingdom, Australia Customers can even enjoy Local Service handled by our local agents. On top of that , we pay all the postage costs to have the item returned to us and returned back to you."
To me that says it has to go back to HK, and Nikon UK won't cover it under warranty. ![]() |

Pete, that is a general comment, whilst my link is to a specific seller, who are not likely to do either.Perhaps the negative comments in response to my "find" are because skepticism seems to be the order of the day. I've used Ebay for a few years, and have seen Digital Rev blossom + grow in that time. They are a reputable seller, and they are so popular over here that they now have a UK agent. Anyway, I just shared what I consider to be a bargain with little-to-no risk (no, I'm not prepared to be a guarantor ) for others to take or leave as they see fit ![]()

Re: Buy a D3 Safely on Ebay - Good Price Too ;)
Charlotte,
Just pointing out that if you purchased from a Nikon UK approved dealer, and that dealer went out of business, Nikon UK would still provide warranty service. If you purchase a Nikon camera body from Digital Rev, they will not do so (lenses are different as Nikon offer an International warranty). Nikon UK's camera warranty is 2 years, so to say that Digital Rev's 12 months warranty is as good as Nikon's isn't (IMHO) true. I wasn't attacking Digital Rev or their reputation, I have no reason to doubt that they are anything other than 100% reputable, I was pointing out that I disagreed with your comparison of the warranties. I shouldn't have been so lazy - and should have explained myself better. Pls accept my apologies ![]() Last edited by PeteT : 26-04-2008 at 23:43. |

I know them, and they are reputable, but they have some ridiculous deals on there. There's a D300 body and lens, and cheap bag, for under £1000. Surely that can't be right?

Pete - Ah ok, strictly speaking you are right that this "seller's warranty" is not quite as good as the Nikon warranty - 1 year -vs- 2 years - but you'd have to consider whether the saving of nearly £500 is worth that
There are several warranty variations going on Ebay ... no warranty ... 1 yr ... 2 yrs ... 3 yrs. It's one of the factors you have to weigh up.Jack - Not if you add the p&p The D300 (body only) is now only £985 at Warehouse Express, it's come down twice in the last couple of weeks ![]() |
