Pay by credit card to ensure you are covered under Section 75 of the consumer credit act (which makes the credit card company jointly and severably liable for the transaction) - that way if there is any problem, the credit card company will reimburse you.

Just because a company is in liquidation does not mean you will get ripped off - and the Digital Camera Company are listed on Nikon UK - Home as online Nikon dealers, so you get a full UK warranty - anything wrong with the camera and Nikon UK will fix it under warranty in the first 2 years!

I have to say I am sorely tempted - does anyone want to buy a lightly used D300

You won't get your money back for it Pete, the price has dropped already ... don't know what else you have (your camera gear's not showing) but it might be more money-wise to keep the D300 as well (if you can afford to).

Please be careful, folks. I've just done a search and it seems that they have gone into liquidation and are not answering their phone. It is possible that the liquidator is selling off the stock and you will be OK, but tread warily.

I've been googling them as well. Didn't see anything about liquidation, but a few negative user reviews, e.g. ordering + paying but turns out item not in stock, then not answering emails

As for them not answering their phone ... well it is Sunday.

As for 30% off stuff in stock, not all of the items on their website are actually "in stock", so look out for that.

Nothing ventured etc. I've had a punt on the D3 shown as in stock (Unlike the D300) The pain is that the 14-24 or 24-70 were not in stock as these are now going to cost me more than the body if it get it....

I was only joking about selling - I would LOVE to buy a D3, but money needs spending on the house, and due to a lifestyle change (less time for work, and more time for photography once the house is done

) I have less spare cash.

Still mustn't moan - the D300 is GREAT as is the extra "ME time"
