Picstop CF cards - Am I being too cynical ?

At the end of last month there was a thread about these 4 GB Extreme cards from Picstop for about £18 each. Eventually I ordered two as did a few others, at least according to their posts. They have not yet arrived. I have just rung Picstop and they looked up the order. After some discussion in the back ground, which I could not understand, I was told.

"The supplier could not deliver them all on time and they have only just arrived. Your two have been posted today and should arrive in a couple of days"

What a coincidence Am being too cynical in thinking that I would have got the same answer if I had rung on Friday not today. Did anyone get theirs on time ??

Re: Picstop CF cards - Am I being too cynical ?

My order was two weeks old on Saturday 9th. Today I have also received an e-mail notifying me of their dispatch. I have not contacted them - but was thinking of it.

Either they really did just get them in, or I owe you a vote of thanks AQ

Yes you are being too cynical.

I have bought several memory cards from them with no trouble at all. And when in stock they have always been delivered next day.

Re: Picstop CF cards - Am I being too cynical ?

I hope that mine are there when I get home tonight. The apparently fake Sandisk CF card I got from HK last month also came with that rescue disk, a nice pouch and good packing. !!!!!

The "small print". Just to make it 100% clear I am in no way suggesting that these cards are anything other than perfectly genuine from what I have found out Picstop are reliable suppliers.

I should also have said that since I think the CF card from HK is a fake I did not install the software !!!!

For those who missed out on the £17.99 offer, mymemory are doing them for £25, or 2GB for £13.

So Anth,

Am I right in saying that other than the concerns over what you have read, you have no other reason to believe your Extreme card HK is a fake? Are you just cynical because the price was low or what?

Cheers,
Rob

Based on the info from here
eBay.co.uk Guides - FAKE SanDisk Extreme Compact Flash Cards Exposed
and other similar sites it is 100% fake. It works OK (so far) and the capacity is right although I am not sure about the actual speed. Now my two have arrived from Picstop I could try some comparisons when I have a bit more time. Let me state clearly that based on the above link the Picstop cards are absolutely genuine.

Anthraquinone, why don't you pursue getting a refund. I did. There is a Sandisk fake hotline you can ring and you can report to eBay too. Contact the sellar and get your refund first!
