These are currently the cheapest I could find for Extreme IV.
An 8GB Disk and a 4GB Disk with Extreme Firewire UDMA reader all for £187.08 delivered. (D300 on order now means I feel a need for UDMA)

I have just ordered a 4Gb Extreme lll from 7dayshop for £36.79

Although you need to add £3.99 postage, I was ordering my printing paper so was paying postage anyway so I thought I'd order this now as it effectively means I paid no postage for it

Can anyone who has used both Extreme lll's and lV's tell me if you have noticed any significant difference during photo shoots. I am not talking about speed in the transfer between card and PC which i would expect to be considerable but that doesn't bother me too much.

Is it worth the cost of lV cards bearing in mind I'd need to pay a new card reader as well as they only reach full speed with the firewire reader I believe.

I noticed no difference whatsoever here on my D200 or my D2x. The only advantage as you say is download where it is much much better.

The future is UDMA which the IV has and the III doesn't. Then the shooting advantage should be noticable. If I get a chance at the NPS roadshow I want to try a IV in the D3/D300 as it should allow better than 3 FPS even when the buffer is full on Raw which also means the buffer empties 3 times faster.
