Sanyo eneloop batteries

I don't now if you've tried these, but they're the new generation rechargeables which have a long shelf life without losing too much charge. They're supposed to retain about 85% charge after a year, and that's handy for equipment you don't use regularly, or if you just want a reserve set of batteries that won't go flat all by themselves after a few weeks. There are a few companies offering this type of battery now, but from what I've read the Sanyo eneloop are about the best.

I bought some recently from here...

Component-Shop

They charge £2 for delivery, so 5 sets of 4 come to £34.50 inclusive. Delivery was quick and they included some battery cases and a tester FOC.

Re: Sanyo eneloop batteries

Yup, good find Sily, these are the newest thing on the AA/AAA battery market which are well worth checking out. I have some made by Panasonic called Infinium. They claim 80% retention after a year so are marginal in that difference but they are 2100MAh so have a touch more which balances the loss out and makes them pretty much identical.

They difference is that 7dayshop have these available for £5.89 on special offer. Their postage is a bit more at £3.99 but if you are buying a few sets then it doesn't matter so much. As a price comparison with the Sanyo Eneloops, 5 sets of 4 of these inc postage comes in at £33.44 but the main price difference is in the fact that even one pack is £5.89 so you don't have to buy 5 packs to get a cheaper price.

I can recommend them and are great for keeping in the camera bag. No more going to that set you charge a few weeks back and finding them flat or so low they give you 5 flashes and then die n you!

Cheers,
Rob
