From an Amateur to an Amateur

From an Amateur to an Amateur

I'm sorry I couldn't post this directly here. I had to upload a lot of images. I reduced the image size to 800px but still some images are larger than 300kb. So I posted it in my blog. Let me know what you honestly think. Any suggestions and ideas are welcome

The pictures are lovely, but around me is urban sprawl, nothing like the images you have with birds, differnet kind of fungus though.

Re: From an Amateur to an Amateur

Go out and create photos is the best way to learn and I agree totally about ppl thinking they just need 'lens X' or a new 'camera body Y' because it will allow them to get better images, it is not restricted to amateurs though! I also agree that is it a case of looking at a really great photograph, looking at the equipment and thinking that the image needed that equipment, very often that is not the case.

I am not saying 'equipement makes no difference' - there are certain (I would say limited) situations that call for something specific but a lot of times equipment is not the limiting factor,. one of my favourite little posts on this is http://neilvn.com/tangents/2005/04/1...e-altf-review/ - it's about old equipment but the message still applies

Midnightstar - that means you have better chances of taking street views, city sky lines, architecture, light trails etc. still you will be able to attract some birds too. maybe some different kinds of birds mostly doves, pigeons and crows... depends on where you live. and I'm a huge fan of candid photos.

Silver - I know, right? it's like an expensive stove doesn't guaranty you a tasty meal, it only helps for a certain extent. some of my favorite shots are taken with compact digital camera, which don't even have manual controls.
