Black & White with 2 Hues/Saturations

Add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and drag the Saturation slider to -100 or to the left and call it BW. click OK

Now make sure you have the Background Layer active and add another Hue/Saturation adjustment layer it should be below the BW layer call it Filter and change the blending mode to Color. click OK

Open the Filter layer and adjust the Hue Slider until you get the look you want, Feel free to play with the 3 sliders.

Didn't know exactly what you meant until I tried it but actually this is a good way of adjusting the tonage of your BW shots! Nice one!
