With people now recognising how easier it is to learn from videos, I suggest people take advantge of the CD loan section on the site. There are some excellent tutorials & you'll find your PS skills will improve rapidly

Bachs.. I am very impressed with your tutorial..
I have some similar tutorials made by Stuart Little another Scottish PS guru. These are a must for PS users like myself. Many many thanks for giving your time giving lesser mortals the ability to learn more. Thank you very much.. PS: Expected a Scottish accent.

What an excellent tutorial - I started a collection from other posts of suggested tutorials and as I am just starting to explore monochrome - this came at the right time - I can't wait for the next episode.
Many thanks

great tut bachs used the technique you showed to make the mirriored face shots in my "playing with my tripod".
Never used layer masks before they're usefull + if you're doing something similar to me you can move the mask from one layer to another saving the hassle of doing it more than once |

Here's lesson 2, covering the first of three conversion methods...
Adjustment Layers, focusing on the Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer plus Photofilter, Curves and Levels Adjustment Layers. The next two lessons will cover The Channel Mixer method and the LAB Mode method using the Lightness Channel Lesson 2 here |

Again thanks - these are really useful, particularly the fact that you dont hide anything by cutting to the next sequence. I like the way you can see everything as it happens.
Only just watched the 2nd and already dying to see the 3rd ![]() Thanks for the time and effort your putting into these |

Glad they are being well received, thanks guys
I'ts great fun making them and a learning experience for me too. When I've completed the whole series, I'll be putting together a snazzy menu'd DVD and will make them available. I'll include all source images copyright free and .psd files where appropriate. I can either add a handful to the suggested CD library for circulation or I don't mind posting them out (F.O.C) to anyone interested. To the team...I don't mind branding it with the TPF logo. |
