Photography...Going Pro Part4

Part 4

A typical job. (A typical day)06/03/07
Ok in this part I will run through a typical everyday job that I cover, dull, not that interesting but bread n butter work.
I was contacted a few days ago about taking some photographs for 4 care homes all run by the same company, initially it was just the outside of the buildings but then the client decided they wanted some interior shots as well.
So I took down the details of locations etc gave them my quote and was given the go ahead.
Night before shoot, make sure enough petrol in the car, charge batteries and format memory cards. Set camera bodies to default settings 100 iso and 125th of a second single shot average metering.
Pack flash units in bags just in case. Pack tripod.
Business cards in wallet, mobile charged, A-Z map, and enough change for any parking fees etc.
Go to pub…..
Get up far too early and make coffee, check e-mails and reply with quotes for model portfolio shoot, Check all equipment and load into car, then off to 1st location.
Meet the client who drives us off to the first care home that they would like the photographs of, Bathed in sunshine making for some lovely outdoor shots and then inside to do some shots of the interior and staff interacting with residents.
Take the shots of the rooms etc no problem then down to the lounge area which is about 30 degrees and humid, lenses and every glass surface of camera covered in condensation!!!!!, wipe clean….! No joy, viewfinder still fogged out and top lcd fogged up as well. Breaks out backup camera and continue with shoot no problem,(cant work that one out why it should affect main body and not the other one but heyho)
Continue above with 3 other homes, back to using 1Dmk2 body with no other issues?
Back to office transfer images to computer and put through RSE making any minor adjustment needed. Convert files burn to dvd and produce contact sheet and invoice.
PUB BEER. Tries to work out problem with camera.

Re: Photography...Going Pro Part4

No problem at all, For this type of job I would charge around the £200.00 mark to dvd with a contact print.

£200.00 to dvd plus a contact print. They drove me from home to home etc, In an ideal world it would have been nearer the £300.00 mark but I was feeling generous and had nothing better to do.
