Presentation for printing
Presentation for printing
Most images need to be presented correctly to give some clout, even an astounding photograph can look average without the right presentation. Here is a quick tutorial to help with presentation for web, printing or even just saving for later use. When you have finished processing your image, you can start on your presentation. I have found by adding a border then printing, the image doesn’t centre on the paper. So here’s how to get around it. Open a new canvas to the size you are going to use (A4, A3). To do this go to: File/New. A box will open in the second field titled preset, choose your paper size then click OK. Now you’ll need to rotate it if you want to use landscape, go to Image/Rotate canvas choose 90degrees. Now bring your image back to the front by clicking on it. To get your image in the centre of the new canvas you need to press the shift key down, then drag the image across. Now you have the image in the centre of your new canvas, you may need to reduce or enlarge it to get the border you require. To do this go to: Edit/Free Transform or CTRL+T, now while pressing down the ALT+SHIFT keys grab the corner of the bounding box and move it in the direction required for the required size, (This action will add pixels into the image so you don’t loose quality if you are going larger). Now you need to add a key line around the image, to do this go to Edit/Stroke. In the pixel box put 10 for A4 or 15 for A3. In LOCATION highlight the inside field (this will give a sharper cleaner key line). Now all that’s left to do is to flatten down the image, go to Layers/Flatten Image. You should now have an image that will print smack bang in the middle of the paper, you’ll have no more big white footers on the page. [edit] I will add some images later[/edit] |
