HOW TO MAKE A SECURE PDF SLIDE SHOW in CS2

This tutorial will show you how to make a PDF slideshow for showing people your work, or sending as an email.
If sent in an email it means that your images in the slideshow will not be able to be printed or edited out of the PDF file.

1. Using Photoshop, open the images you want to include in the slide show. You can also choose to use an entire folder but this is for ease of practise.
2. Go to FILE >AUTOMATE > PDF PRESENTATION

3. This will bring up the PDF presentation box. To create the slideshow using the pictures u have opened in PS click on ADD OPEN FILES

Note the list of files that you have open in PS. If there is a file that you wish to remove just click on the file name in the list and then click REMOVE.

4. In the OUTPUT section of the menu, click on the PRESENTATIN button. Just under this you will find a TRANSITION drop down menu. Here you can choose which transition you want between slides.
5. Click on the Save button and a standard save menu appears. Name the pdf file and then click save. When you do this a SAVE PDF menu appears

6. If you are emailing the slide show, in the ADOBE PRESET menu choose SMALLEST FILE SIZE, this will keep the uploading and downloading time to a minimum. Also make sure that the VIEW PDF and the OPTIMISE boxes are ticked.
7. In the list of categories on the left, click on SECURITY. In the PERMISSIONS box click on the USE A PASSWORD TO RESTRICT PRINTING EDITING AND OTHER TASKS.

8. Enter a password of your choice. Then in the PRINTING ALLOWED and CHANGES ALLOWED boxes click on NONE
9. When you click on save a box will come up asking you to confirm your password, do this then click OK and PS will create the PDF file for you. As you clicked on the preview PDF it should run straight away. To exit the slide show press ESCAPE.

Hope this is of some use to folks.......

Fi

Thanks for that Fi - it is very handy to know. It could be useful for you to send your Edinburgh pics to the Visit scotland place

Re: A Secure Pdf File In Cs2

You have to be persistant, Fi. No good waiting for them to call you. Get back to him and say 'I don't appear to have received a response to my e-mail of the......'

It might be better to write in as they probably have set timescales to deal with a letter. Come to think of it, they ought to have set timescales for answering e-mails too.

If you could find out from their web-site (or just by phoning them up and asking), your next communication could include the fact that he has not complied with the council's policy on responding to an e-mail. if he still does not respond, then you can go further up the ladder.
