workflow
Work flow!
Hear I have outlined the process of my workflow, hopefully somebody may find it of use. After taking the shots in Raw (unless for newspapers where turnaround time is critical) I will load the photographs into Rawshooter essentials, at this point I do a quick scan of all the pics deleting any obvious crap. Next is to make any adjustments that may be needed, under expose/over expose etc. After any adjustments are done the files are saved in a subfolder of their original as tiffs. Next is to open up photoshop and go and make a cup of tea whilst my pc groans and takes about 10 minutes to do this simple task. I will then (suitably refreshed) open up the files and adjust the levels and remove any dust bunnies that are there, following that I will give the image a small amount of usm treatment and change the file size up to around 49 mb for Alamy. Then the all important file info goes in. http://www.pixalo.com/community/tutorials-guides/file-info-6601.html I then save the file with an appropriate name close it and move on to the next. |

Re: workflow
Always useful to see how others' workflow works!
Personally: Auto convert from RAW to small JPGs Look at results in ThumbsPlus Choosing the worthwhile shots, rework the RAW, save to TIFF and tweak in PS Produce smaller 800px JPGs to upload to website Tag the TIFFs and either resample to larger files (to burn on CD) or produce JPGs for emailing RAW files auto copied onto another system for backup |

Re: workflow
I thought Alamy stressed that they did not want the photos to be sharpened at all as the amount would be dependent on the buyer?
