Hello all,

I've been a dormant member here for some time now along with a number of other photography sites and I have to say I've been wary of posting to some because there often seems to be a few regulars who think they run the show and put you down whenever you say something they don't agree with.

Well, I've been reading and posting here quite a bit over the last couple of weeks and I must say you seem like a nice friendly bunch always ready with some encouragement and constructive advice so I figure, if you'll have me, I'd like to hang around.

That being the case I thought I'd introduce myself, my name's Dan and I live near to Leeds in sunny West Yorkshire. I like to photograph just about anything but my main interest is in insects, spiders and other bugs. I first really got interested in photography when I bought a Canon 10d a couple of years ago and realised how much easier it was to learn the trade when you could see the results so quickly and it didn't cost any more to have another go.

I'm now moving from "take enough shots and one of them should be OK" to "take your time and get it right".

The one thing that we try to encourage here (besides taking photos) is that everyone can and should have an opinion. It doesn't really matter if you have been taking photos for years or days, your feedback and input is just as valuable and welcomed by our other members. Everyone is welcomed and treated the same.

Your step from take many and hope one is good to take your time and get it right is often a big changing point for most digital users. Couple that with constructive feedback and no matter what your standard is currently it should rapidly improve

Sure you can hang around, you can even bring your friends too

HI Dan welcome, As a newcomer i was worried about EXPERTS! but we dont seem to have them here just friendly people many with a wealth of experience which they are prepared to share . I ,have tried other sites this one feels comfortable.
