Greetings from Australia!
Hello to everyone on pixalo from down under.
I知 pretty inexperienced when it comes to photography, something that has spawned more from my love of fishing & boating more than anything. I really enjoy taking photo痴 of the fish I catch, outdoor marine life and pretty much anything to do with the water. My old trusty Nikkormat 35mm has been a great reliable camera over the years, but after buying a Kodak 2mp bridge camera a few years ago I have been dragged kicking and screaming into the digital world. Thanks to the many reviews and posts that you guys & gals have made in the review sections I have just purchased my first DSLR being a Nikon D40x with the 18-50m kit lens. Pick it up in a few days. I知 sure I値l have heaps of questions when I get the beast and look forward to sharing some of the pictures with you. Cheers, Kev |

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
In case you where wondering about my user name ! It's actually a species of fish I frequently come across here in Australia... So the name seemed well suited on a photo forum!  I spend two to three days a week on the water and for years have strugled to gain an good understanding of the art of photography (as you can see in these pics), so I have taken it upon myself to better my skill. Hopefully, and with some practice I will be able to post some out-standing photo's of the local scenery as against my current standard. These are off my first digital - a Kodak 2Mp... I have never scanned prints taken from my Nikormat, which is a shame as the old girl did take some great photo's. A self timed portrait from the Kodak.. Not a good example of photography, but a good example of the scenery, a snapper and me  A darwin sunset, also on the Kodak... These are the types of pictures I really want to improve on!
