Hello from Canvey Island

Hi,

Dave here all the way from Canvey in sunny, though windy South Essex.
Always been interested in Photography, but never really persued it as a hobby aside from the "snappy" side of things. I got myself a Powershot A70 a few years ago solely because it had manual modes on it and rarely took anything in "standard" modes. However, it was still only a tool for recording those must save moments such as holidays, birthdays etc. as it never really felt like a proper camera.
In November I acquired (from e-bay) a 2nd hand 300D with kit lens and haven't looked back since. Extremely Amateur would describe my status at the moment, but I've started looking at the world in a different light since I acquired it - Always on the lookout for a potential picture.

Unfortunately with three kids I don't get as much time as I'd like to go out solely to get photo's so I haven't got a mass of them to be posting. Content to lurk around looking until I've got some to share, whereupon I'd welcome any Comments or Criticism along with ideas for improvement.......

Hi Dave, and

With three kids, I'm amazed you had time to write your hello message!

At least you will have three subjects to photograph, and we look forward to seeing them in due course.

Have a look around, and if you need any help with anything, please ask. You will find that nothing is too much trouble for anyone here.

Cheers for that - Forgot to mention I was having a slack day at the office !!!

Also neglected to mention that my PS skills are non-existant, so what comes out of the camera (aside from some tweaking of the RAW files with Raw Shooter Essentials - the free version) is pretty much all I have....

Hopefully some of your tutorial will point me in the right direction, provided I have time to read them.
