Hello to all Pixalo Members

i have been lurking around for a while and i find this site very informative and helpful. Its allways useful to here other peoples first hand experiences from using various pieces of equpment as i believe experience speaks volumes and all that.

I have been taking shots since my boy was born in 2002 on a fuji finepix 2600 ( some 9,000 shots in total) and this last autumn i upgraded and bought my first Dslr (Nikon D50) without knowing the first thing about shooting with them sooooo any pics i post using it are self taught etc from a manual so bear with me if they are poor (i dont think they are).

Anyway i dont want to running the risk of waffling i just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to you all and happy posting

Most folk here are also self-taught, so don't let that put you off!

Pleased you find the site helpful. Now you are a member, you will hopefully find it even more helpful.

If you have been looking at the site before, you wull probably know your way around, however, you might find this tutorial helpful in resizing your images for posting, and this one on how to post images.

Please ask if there is anything you need.

Please don't think of your shots as "poor", the great thing about this site is everyone here is still learning and are always happy to pass on what they've have learnt to us beginners!! Look forward to seeing some of your shots!

Quesion 1!

Where is the best place for me to post a portrait picture that i took of my 4 year old son?

I love taking pictures of him and he is probably the main reaon i took up photography to the degree i did ( I must have taken around 7,000 shots of him over the course of his short life

(its a lot i know)

Anyway i basically want to post it so i can get some of your valued expert feedback as to what level my photography is at

I look forward to your helpful and constructive replies (in other words im cool if you want to slate it

)

If your wanting feedback on a single shot then the Photo Critique forum would be the best place to post it... but if your wanting to show several shot's at a time then the Photo Sharing forum is available for that. Have a read of the guidelines at the top of each section to keep you on the right track.

here is a tutorial.

If you need help in uploading,
this will tell you how to do it.

Once you have an image in your gallery, you can post a link into the forum you choose to display in.
