help - beginner

Hello,
i've had a digi camera for about a year. i wanted to have an A4 canvas made from an image. however the chappie i'm sending the image to says that i need to have a 5 mexapixel camera and to save as an attatchment. well i'm completely lost. my cameral is sony cybershot 5 mexapixel and i've had some prints made of some of my images and they look excellent. so i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong. is it something to do with the settings on my camera. i've got the image size set at 3.1M and use closeup mode to take photos of flowers mainly. as for saving as an attatchment wot does he mean. i save my images to a folder on my computer. to send the image to the chappie i drag and drop into the email.
can anybody help me as i'm finding it really frustrating cos my images look chapion on my monitor!

Hi and . A Sony Cybershot 5mp is a decent camera and will give you a good A4 print. I can't see what the guy's beef is on that. If you are emailing the file to him he is asking you to attache the file to the email. Standard procedure with a reasonable sized file. If you are sending a lot of files to print, copying to cd may be better or go into your local Jessops, Boots etc. HTH.

Maybe this is the problem, I've never had a Sony camera so I'm not sure of it's settings but it sounds like the 3.1M setting = 3.1 Megapixels. If this is the case then you'll need to put the quality setting up to it's highest/best setting to get the full 5 Megapixels resolution. It'll mean you won't be able to fit as many shots onto your memory card though as the higher the quality the more room each shot takes up.

p.s... Welcome to the forums!.

Re: help - beginner

Hi & welcome to Pixalo

As already suggested, ensure your camera is set to record at highest quality setting. Assuming you have now copied these images to your hard disk, then take the follwing steps to attach them to your email in Outlook Express :-

- With your new email open, click "INSERT" from top menu & then choose "attachment" . This will open a browser window from which you can navigate to your photo & then click OK. Note you can attach multiple shots by repeating this stpe, or by holding "shift" key or "CTRL" key when selcting multiple shots from the select screen

Hope this helps.
