Hi folks
Hello to you all..........
My name is John and I live with my wife & 2 daughters on a farm in Suffolk. I started taking pictures about 5 years ago (well I tried a lot prior to that) my first digital camera was a Sony DSC-F55, remember the one with the rotating top section. This opened up the world of digital photography to me and I was hooked, instant viewing, no developing time and total control. I have fond memories of that little 2.1mp camera that took fantastic pictures. Since then I've tried several brands of PAS ending up with a Panasonic FZ30 till last year. This was a very good camera apart from the noise issues which contrary to some peoples view do exist. It had good reach and great ergonomics to be fair though. I've just bought a Nikon D50 and have a Nikor 50mm F1.8 & a Sigma 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 zoom. This is a fantastic camera for the money IMO and the lenses where a S/H gift from a relative. The quality of the pictures is so much higher than the PAS cameras I have used in the past and I'm only just starting to get to know the camera which bodes well. I look forward to taking part in the forum as I learn more. |

Re: Hi folks
JohnGreat intro. I know a few people who've had the FZ30 & produced great results, so obviously a great camera. As for the Nikon D50, congratulations on a cracking DSLR. That linked with the 50mm f/1.8 means you'll struggle to better the picture quality without having to re mortage the house Looking forward to your shots & joining in the banter Dave |

Re: Hi folks
Welcome. Watch out for Dave. He tends to suggest "questionable" techniques for subjects such as Derelict.
