Just a brief intro - I am from Wallasey Amateur Photo Society on the Wirral Peninsula in the UK. Our Society was formed in 1904 ( I wasn't around then ..) and has been going ever since. I have to say that as far as camera clubs are concerrned your website is one of the best I have seen. Normally they seem to be difficult to navigate and the sections all mixed up making information difficult to find, in your case you have these points covered well

Thanks for the kind welcome and the kind comments from Steve about our web site.

With regards to the query from Dave re percentage of members using digi / film. We have not done a census of late however I would estimate that it is probably 60% digi / 40% film of our active members for taking and probably about 80% are using digital technologies for printing. I mainly shoot film and process & print in a real darkroom for monochrome, for colour I tend to use slide film and scan then print digitally via own printer or send to lab.

Last year in the club we had a digital v film competition with an outside judge - the result was very close with traditionalists winning by 7 points. The digi boys have insisted on a rematch later this season - it makes for a good evening with no one taking it too seriously and lots of healthy banter.

I will post some of my shots when I return from Germany, off for a holiday and hope to fit in a day at Photokina.
