Hi to everyone from me here in Melbourne, Victoria, moved here 17 months ago from the North of England and really enjoying a new life and being able to take photo's of a different landscape. I particularly enjoy taking sunset and sunrise (if I can get up!) photo's and have recently been trying to have a go at giving the HDR and Orton effect to some of my photos, so may post my first effort to see what people think and any tips that might help. Look forward to entering the competitions as well, as its good to see how other people approach a subject compared to your own entry.

hi there Pete. sependind on where abouts you are in Melb I have heard the Werribi wild life park is meant to be quiet good , hoping to get over there to take some pics.look lforward to viewing your shots.

Hi Chickadee, I'm in St Albans in the western suburbs. Haven't been to Werribee yet but will be soon, and will let you know what its like. Been to Melbourne Zoo recently for twilight concert and did take some photos but plan to join up as a supporter so i can go anytime. The Mountain gorilla in there is awesome.

PS Went to Tasi last year and covered the East side and got some great shots. Fantastic place.

yep some special specy shots around here...we always say there is so much in your own backyard that you really dont get to see or enjoy.We have done east coast few times and still havent seen it all. , ..we enjoy getting away for few days every now and then and are still amazed at how much there is to see.We did cradle mountain begining of year and are hoping to go back in winter for some snow shots .Be interested to hear what werribee is like .we plan doing the walk in to wineglass bay down here and even do the flight as well just for the photos...such a magic and specy place....

Hi one of places we did stay was at freycinet where we camped last year in march and it rained and rained and blew a gale. Eventually it calmed down and we did the walk up to Wineglass overlook and all around the loop back. Weather still overcast so couldn't get that classic spectacular wine glass bay photo!

My wife and I are looking forward to coming back in next few months, we bought a two year parks pass last year to make sure we did.

we get the 2 year passes ,they are good ...Hope the weather is better next time down...but with Tassie doesnt matter what the day starts like always be prepared for all seasons in the one day..They actually have deals on that you can do a flight over freycinet and you can walk return that sort of thing..
